Division of Emergency Ultrasound Announces Launch of US Fellowship

July 19, 2019
Program Highlights

Welcome to Greenville!

The Division of Emergency Ultrasound is excited to welcome the newest members of the Prisma Health - Upstate Emergency Medicine residency training program!

Overview of US Education at Prisma Health - Upstate

Residents within the program receive comprehensive and longitudinal ultrasound education throughout their residency education.  Within the Division of Emergency Ultrasound there are 4 emergency ultrasound fellowship trained faculty who are dedicated to ensuring all residents possess the skills necessary to effectively utilize point-of-care ultrasound for the care of their patients in whatever practice environment they choose to pursue following residency graduation.  All first year residents complete an emergency ultrasound rotation to acquire the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for fundamental image acquisition and interpretation.  Throughout training the residents receive feedback on how to improve their ultrasound skills through expert review of ultrasound exams they perform during clinical shifts.  Residents also receive dedicated didactic and hands-on ultrasound education on a monthly basis throughout residency training.  Furthermore, all residents have the option to complete an "advanced ultrasound elective" during their residency training should they desire.

Videocast Feedback

In an effort to enhance the ultrasound educational experience of the Department during the upcoming academic year we are excited to be integrating videocast feedback during our Quality Assurance (QA) process in addition to incorporating FlipGrid into the Emergency Ultrasound Rotation Curriculum. You can find examples of our video casts in the clinical section of this blog.
