I went to Wofford College and decided I wanted to stay in the upstate for medical school to be close to my family, who all live in Spartanburg, SC. Shortly after starting at UofSC SOM Greenville, I met my sweet husband Walden, who is also from Spartanburg. We can’t imagine living anywhere other than the Upstate of South Carolina and are thrilled to have the opportunity to stay here in Greenville while I continue my training.
FAST FACTS
Hometown: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Why Prisma EM? As a UofSC SOM Greenville student, I was lucky enough to get to know some of the faculty starting early in medical school, as many of them worked as our IPM leaders first and second year. When I rotated through the department third and fourth year, each shift was filled with energetic attendings, residents and nurses who were encouraging and slowed down to teach me. I feel that I was given the autonomy I needed to learn, while always having the support I needed to safely care for patients. I'm looking forward to enjoying that balance in residency as well. Greenville's ED has consistently felt like an encouraging environment, and I am so excited to continue my training here!
What do you enjoy on your free time: In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband and our dogs. We've enjoyed getting to know Greenville over the past 4 years and are looking forward to continuing to explore the area.
Do you have any pets? My husband and I have three dogs! The two pictured are Buck and Molly. We've acquired another pup since, and his name is Hitch.
Favorite Novel: It Ends With Us, but I've loved every Colleen Hoover booked I've read so far!
